because its extremly uncomfortable! earlier it was enough to do 1 search, now you have to do more (for each year 1 search), and this is a waste of time..
then I think that this new search function will support the opening of topics, which already exist. I think not everyone will take the time to search the topic in all years..
yeah I know, the new search is faster.. but imo not the best compromise between results and speed.. |

It should be able the possibility of search by user without the need of writing any word on Regular or Phrase search fields.
PS It's anoying when sometimes automatically logouts. |

| As u can imagine it isnt split between years just to be annoying, theres massive technical reasons for it. I'll point Swamper over here and he can reply to this. |

i can't understand how does this new search works at all, sometimes results seem to come randomly regardless of the time period selected.
example: searching for "tiesto". picking last 3 months gives 95 pages of results. picking last year gives 102 pages of results, surely there should be more than 7 extra pages in 9 months? picking last 6 months doesn't give any result
there's something very broken with it. |

Agree! Sometimes nothing turns up when searching. Next time when searching pages turns up and next time nothing again:conf: |

never liked the search function. Can never find info mainly on tracklistings despite knowing there is a thread for it somewhere.
No wonder theres so many reposts, duplicate threads |

Nothing is broken - it is limited to returning 5000 results from posts - if there was a thread where tiesto was mentioned in every post and that thread had 5000+ replies then you'd only have that 1 thread returned. Since 'tiesto' is such a popular term you are not going to get very good results for your search over such a broad span of time. |

| ok, i understand, it makes sense. still, there is one option that isn't working: the search from posts from "6 months ago". it never returns any results, regardless of what i search. |

Fixing that now - seems that when it dumps out the 6 month database the last few nights that it was messing up. Weird. |

There is one more bug and this is the 4 letter limit for a word. When I use the search function most of my searches contain words greater than 4 letters and I still get that annoying yellow message:
** Note: Minimum search word length = 4 letters **
Please fix this and thank in advance. |
