| Well just recently made the change over from vinyl to ableton, so i invested in a new laptop to run ableton on aswell, seems we all know most laptops come with crappy 2 channel soundcards i wanted to upgrade to a good card that has at least 4 channel so i can monitor and cue. So i browse the net for a few weeks reading reviews and decided on getting the M Audio Firewire Audiophile for £150. It arrived yesterday and the damn thing is D.O.D., so now i have all the heartache of sending it back and waiting for the tests on it. So off to a good start for a company thats all loads of hype, No more mixing for me for a while :(  |

I have the same card....and have been using it for awhile now...it's an awsome card, but have you tried to d/l the new drivers for it on the m-audio website?....and for using ableton, I think the firewire 410 would be better.... |

I was using the 410 with a Mac and I had it drop a few times. By drop I mean that it was like it lost power for 5-10 seconds. I lost all trust in it.
I ended up upgrading to the RME Muitiface. It's a lot more expensive but it's worth a look. |

i think that you are the only one who is unhappy with the 410, I heard nothing but good things about it.....but then again...i really know nothing about Macs, so it could be a mac thing..... |
