recently, ive opened up my musical tastes to more genres, still EDM of course, but i wanted to ask from the place where this particular genre DnB came from.

can any of u guys point me to some hard drum n bass. im tired of the cafe, lounge type DnB, and the reggae type is kind of good, but i want hard stuff. background dark voices, hard bass, kickin drum. know what i mean?

any suggestions?
Chang monkey
technical itch --- hard
dom & roland --- quite dark
ed rush & optical - techy
black sun empire - techy/electronic --- very good
Dillinja - original bad boy valve bass rumbler

depends how dark you're intending to go. if you're looking for something darker than 'lounge type dnb' then i'd suggest anthemy stuff, i'd get both the andy c - nightlife albums as they have a bit of everything really.

the pendulum album hold your colour is very good. i'd say terminal and that other song which i forget the name of are pretty dark anyway.

oh, and if you can i'd grab any john b sets you can, or the pendulum essential mix [contains loads of exclusive remixes, and some dark stuff too]

*not really a fan of the really dark stuff so can't really comment, though i am a bit partial to things like dillinja - fast car

AS mentioned already try out Pendulum and Black Sun empire.
Rebel Brown
Not really a follower of DnB, but I enjoyed Bingo Sessions Volume 1 a lot.

I'd say your best bet would be to go on juno.co.uk (or any other record shop which sells d'n'b) and just try out samples from different labels and you will probably find a sound u like.

A few heavy/dark d'n'b producers imo:

Bad Company
Pendulum's older stuff
Break <-- this guys my fave d'n'b producer - makes really heavy, rolling bassline type tracks.
Dillinja
Teebee
Ed Rush & Optical
DJ_FRAZ
Clipz, Bad Company, Fon, Dj Hazard, Hive, Pcress, Sta, Skynet, Ram Trilogy, and my personal fave heavy and dark producer - Raiden.
check out the kryptic minds remix of 6 foot ditch, probably my all time favourite dark nasty drum n bass track.

oh and also death tank by fraz b, available on his website

Hmm, Pendulum is fairly poor in my opinion, a bit 'My First DnB Experience' if that makes sense?

Have a look at Dom & Roland, Teebee, Technical Itch, Kemal...

Get some tracks by Aphex Twin, a little older but still top drawer, get the 'come to daddy' album if you can, one of the finest electronic music albums me thinks.

lots of people say the pendulum sound is now too commercial but i dont really care, if it sounds good.

you can still like it and be into a lot of other stuff.

im actually quite offended by your comment:thepirate

he is right in away. alot of people jumped on the bandwagon when the new album come out. the album was nothing special. their older tunes are very strong though, still blow the roof off now.
