I heard from a friend of a friend who knows the sound guy on the set that the DJ actually does exist and the story is true, although Frankie Wilde is not his real name, and that those who say the movie is fake are really faking. |
That proves nothing other than the fact that there's a lot of conjecture.
So the director said this and that at the screenings himself. Someone who worked closely with the writer of the film....and you heard from a friend of a friend who knows the sound guy?
Regardless, if it was based on real person, and his name wasn't Frankie Wilde, unless the movie closely emulated his life in ibiza, and meeting and falling in love with a lip reader, hallucinating coke badgers etc. etc. it's no more based on that individual than Beethoven. |

Dood. My original comment was a joke, a lure for the "gullible" if you will. |

| great movie, one of my favorites. I'm pretty sure it not a true story at all because if you've seen fubar, it says it's a true story also but it's not and both movies have the same director. |

I told all the old dudes at work about this movie back in November and today I come into work and one of them is "RJ, guess what - I rented that All Gone Pete Tong movie".
:stongue: :wtf:
Yes, the old dood liked it. He thought it was very "clever". |

like Beethoven was when he composed while he was deaf.
|
i heard that in a round about way the movie was based off Beethoven, apparently he used to cut the legs off his pianos and lay on the ground so he could "feel" the music through the floor....just a hunch though |

To be honest, I thought the movie sucked ass. |
I agree, it wasn't anything special. And it does in NO way compare to Human Traffic |

when i first heard of this movie I thought... "wtf... if this guys such a 'brilliant dj' how come i've never even heard of him"
a quick search on discogs showed only one release by a "Frankie Wilde" and it was an alias of DJ Sammy :haha: so clearly, its a phony.
and on top of that it was stated it was a phony on TA several times before. so it was pretty much down pat.
then on the night of rank1 @guv i was talkin to a TA, dont remember who, and he kept saying how Frankie was such an amazing dj and that he's a god, etc. etc..
so then i tell him its a phony. then he says, "na man, i have his records from years ago! Back in 1999!" LOL :haha:
:stongue:
p.s. THE COCAINE BADGER IS THE GREATEST!! LOL |
