Love big, classic, American muscle, but IMO this car just looks like crap. Not too sure that they hit a good balance between the new age/retro look...

Interesting...i dont think itll be an instant classic though.

look at the pontiac gto ;) sure its got ellis but its semi decent looking and weighs 100 tonnes. Did/does not sell well.

Although the hemi powered cars are doing quite well. they are nice imo. Not super hawt looking(well the 300c srt8 is).
Itll be interesting to see.

I know the joys of driving a big displacement muscle car, the power and freedom you feel driving around in one, but its just not practical today, unless its a toy on the side. Sure it would be a nice car to have, but I'll take the crappy 2.0 Civic if I gotta drive it every day.

Love the idea. But, like the 4-door Charger, its UGLY.

And whats with everyone? "Oh its bad on gas wah wah wah." Hello? The road is littered with SUVs that get just as bad or worse milage. If you're not gonna buy one, then who cares about its gas milage?

Undoubtably, this will be a VERY fun car to drive and quick as hell with the big Hemi in it. So why does everyone hate it? If any import brand came out with a rear-drive 400+ hp car everyone would be crapping their pants no matter how ugly it was. Its cause its a domestic. Therefore most people will find something wrong, like the obviuos fact that it will drink gas.

And it may not even be that bad! A 500hp Z06 can return 20mpg! My Buick with a 5.7 can return me better milage then my friend's 2004 Accord. Just cause its a fast car with a big engine doesnt mean 'step on it' all the time. If you drove around in a tuned Civic with your foot on the floor all the time you wouldnt get the best milage either!

Bottom line, Chrysler is doin well right now. And when that car comes out, they will sell sell sell.

it is obviously a car to drive during the weekends, you don't need a phd to figure that one out :p

well yeah it is..but youll see a lot being used daily.

Yeah the road is littered with suv's and they get bashed to. With the fuel prices going up fuel economy is a concern. Sure when the planets align and you have perfect day an ls1 powered car can idle along on the highway and bang off 28ish mpg but that rarely happens. Sure the z06 could return you with 20 mpg, but driving in the city it sure as hell wont, and i doubt your old buick pulls in better mpg then an accord unless your friend has a super heavy foot while you grandma it everwhere. Not that an accord (v6) is a poster child for mpg.

people are bitching about mpg..so what. you said it was ugly. does that mean you are an automatic domestic hater? no. just cause we choose to bitch about fuel economy doesnt mean we are all domestic haters either.

It has to do with high fuel prices these days, most here are concerned with fuel economy whether you agree with it or not.

It will be fun to drive, thats for sure. the new motors are very good.
and chrysler products have been improved over the years a lot. My rents are chrysler people so ive had my fair share of expeirnce with them. the new stuff is nice.

I work for a company that deals with research & development for "the big three" i have done testing on a lot of vehicles that aren't due to be on the market for 4-8 years. Chyrsler is one of them, and they have made huge improvements over the years.

Like anything else that comes out "New" it will catch your eye for a while, but after a while, you'll get bored of looking at it.

I've got a 96 Camaro Z28 - 5.7L 6spd. i've de-tuned the engine (programming mods) and im pulling 650-700+ kms on a 55 L tank. i drive it normally on premium gas. (although its mainly Highway Kms) i can drive in 6th gear @ 120kph while at 1,500rpm (almost idle) and still have the power there to pass without having to gear down. I only spend apprx $250 on gas a month.

I've got (now driving) a 88 GMC jimmy 4.3 Auto - absoute pig on gas!!! i have to fill this thing up every 3-4 days (approx $600 mth!!) but on the good side, this thing is amazing to drive in winter. TGF 4X4.

the big difference in getting gas mileage is the transmission - standards will always get better mileage.

And the advantage Muscle cars have over civic's & other rice rockets you have the power when you need it. i never have to rev my engine over 2000 rpm (for normal driving) everyone i know who has a civic or import has to rev the crap out of the engine to get it going and from stalling out.

Im not putting down compacts in any way. they're fun to drive, a lot better on gas. but i like my "big" cars.

I call this one. Care to provide some test benchmarks?

Don't tell me that if I sit in a buick and drive 50Km on a street and 50Km on a highway, it will return better mileage than the same in the 2004 accord.

If you're cooking up specific tests for it to return better mileage, sure.. but in real life, Accord (even with auto tranny and 3.0 240 hp engine) will outdo it.
