Sayid and Eko (the Big Black Nigerian) just fought, with Sayid getting the best of it. I thought the Nigerian would kick his ass.
Ana Lucia was a cop...and her mother was her sargeant...suprise suprise. Let's hope something interesting happens tonight |

Why did everyone expect the black dude to kick Sayid's ass?? Ummm...HELLO PEOPLE!!! This guy was in the Iraqi Guard, he could kick anybody's ass on the island. The "big" black guy isn't even that big to begin with. |

Well, for one, he is bigger than anyone else on the island. He is clearly saavy with weapons: strong with the staff and resourceful enough to pick up a rock to brain the others. Additionally, Theyve been on the island for forty days. Even with the "feast" the people from the front of the plane had, I believe that the Nigerian's advantage grows as they both grow weaker.
With the way they built his character, you could say that he could have killed Sayid, but knew that Sayid wasn't going to kill him, so it was unnecessary. Being in the Iraqi Guard may have meant Sayid was only a torturer, which he said he did. No doubt he had some training in disarming and combat, but the Nigerian also clearly has some survival experience as well.
Kate golfing was hot, and she showed a few acting chops, but I wish they would let her character develop more. Ana Lucia has gotten alot of development for someone who looks like theyll be "swallowed" into Jack's Camp after she gets a few feature spots, though they may reuse her for emergency plot nudging later. The big questions now are still pretty much the same as last week, in more or less this order: What are we gonna do about the Others? Where's that douchebag Walt? What does the machine in the hatch do? Does that blond guy have a secret stash of cocaine and why won't he let Hurley do a line? |
