wtf a Christian holiday? Thanksgiving celebrations(harvest festivals) were celebrated by the egyptians,romans,greeks etc. The roots go all the way back to the geeks i mean the greeks. Thanksgiving is all about being thankful to a higher being or beings. The greeks where thankful to their gods... the chinesse i forgot to who.. To get to the point thanksgivng has been a day celebrated in many parts of the world through diffent cultures and customs before it was celebrated in modern times(U.S and Canada). But there is no evidence at all or better yet the roots of this day dont indicate that it was meant to be a christian holiday :rolleyes: :rolleyes:. |

What the hell is your point? Thanksgiving is a holiday that originated when the Protestants came to America and they celebrated the harvest with a festival. This all happened after they were taught how to grow crops by the Indians. Indians are Christian??? |

who did they hold responsible for the harvest? god.
arnold, the american thanksgiving started with protestants in the 13 colonies.

Why is there a discussion turned debate on the origin of Thanksgiving?
It's an American Holiday which was brought on by Pilgrims in the 1600's...
but in actuality who gives a rats ass...modernly speaking, it's a day to eat like a fat ass, spend time with family, & give thanks but mainly eat like a fat ass & be thankful your fat ass could have eaten like that...
so stfu on origins & history...eat & be thankful. |
