wow. i'm visiting my dad in texas for the weekend and he gave me some CD's that said, "jamie's stuff" and i popped them in (this is from when i lived with my dad back in 2001 for like 8 months) and it's old school tunes:)
tracklist (kinda random too...doesn't really follow the same genre, but i've always been all over the place like that with music)
Marc Aurel "The Sun" Dumonde remix
Marco V "Indicator"
Nick Warren "Intensify"
Paul Van Dyk "Live @ Mayday 2002" (ridiculous set by the way...not my usual style, but this set has so much energy, i totally forgot about this...oh and it's probably the only PVD set i've ever had on my computer:p i never really followed his stuff)
Romanthony "Never " - i think it's a PVD rework or something...
Second Sun "Empire"
Soho "Flyin" Madness Pad remix (?) it's pretty chill, i remember liking this song...listening to it now actually:)
Solar Stone "Solar Coaster"
Yoda "Definitely" Trance Generators mix
D-Note "Shed My Skin" PMT remix (anything PMT touches is sick...he's one of my favorite producers/remixers)
PMT "Deeper Water" Wookieslut extended vocal mix
well that was a nice trip back in time...
what are some old school tracks you still have? it's funny to see how much my taste has evolved. i'm a total house head now:D tribal, funky, progressive...oh and i've always love prog breaks too. |

I swear, some of these guys sure know how to make a fellow who followed Jam & Spoon in the beginning feel very, very, very old.
I'd hate to think what the Knuckles worshippers feel like... |

I guess that ought to do it in regards to the usage of "oldschool" in this thread, so I'll just post some tunes instead.
Symphony Of Love - Quantum Leap
Jammin Unit - Flower Swing (A1/B1)
F.U.S.E - Substance Abuse
Hithouse - Jack To The Sound Of The Underground
X-Buzz - Beyond The Hills
Phi Phi & Greg D - Contact/A Friend Called Phi Phi
Ian Pooley - Celtic Cross
Dave Angel - Tokyo Stealth Fighter (all mixes) |

Yes, we wish we had that on vinyl, now, don't we? If some peeps o'er at discogs are true to their word, i should have mine anon...with this i can finally take over the world.
I remember making a thread about a movie called 'Phantasm' some time ago in the cor. So when I popped in my Final Dream cd I finally happened upon a track that features a sample of "the tall man" talking from the movie. :-) |

| You want real old-skool trance, you go all the way back to Tranceport. I mean, everyone knows Oakie invented dance music with that record. |

I knew that the slightest hint of DJ.Ungle Fever would elicit this type of response, question was just from who. ;) |

I should think that was your original design though.. Anyway, if it were something else on djungle that don't appeal to me there probly would be no such response. At least not from me, anyway. But when I think about it, really, it has nothing to do with djungle but rather solely with that vinyl. And since I knew you're listening to the mp3 of it and not the vinyl. ;) |

oh yea i guess i should have mentioned that i didn't really get into modern day edm until 2000. "modern day" meaning like tiesto & oakie and sasha. so my definition of old school is certainly different from most of yours i'm sure. before that it was rock and hip hop for me (2 genres i still love btw:) )
i was living in japan actually from late 96 to 98 and the only edm cds i owned were enigma (i've loved them since i was like 13) and prodigy...oh yea and hooverphonic "a new stereophonic sound system"...really cool cd actually. but yea i would go out to karaoke bars in japan, and they didn't really play any edm...mostly rap. so when i came back to the US in 99...all my friends were talking about this new drug called "ecstasy" hahah and i started going clubbing my senior year and that's when i discovered David Padilla's In The Mix Vol. 2 Afterhours and Sasha's GU13:crazy: |

I was merely pointing out that the risk of such a response would be rocketing up the charts at the mention of DJ.Ungle Fever when considering the fact that TA has a handful of 303 afficionados, yourself included. That only left the question which one it would be who would actually respond. ;) |

| I see... Well, if there are indeed some more 303 afficionados they certainly are reticent, a great deal more so than I, at least. :) |
