Very interesting read.

I'd like to try out a test like that.

no one can tell the difference, even these guys couldn't, they got 1 or 2 right during 1 or 2 of the tests. To me that doesn't seem like they can actually tell the difference.

I'm sure you can tell the difference between anything lower than 192 and 300+?

with multimedia speakers no....high quality speakers those with a good ear will know right away.

ahhhhh, I'd say anything below 160 u can tell the diff, like 128 compared to 192 is noticible, but 192 compared to 320 is next to impossible to tell the diff now. Dvds are encoded at 192 im pretty sure, thats kind of the standard for a trained ear, anything lower can be noticed. What this article was getting at, is that the compression is getting so good, even at 128kbps now is hard to tell the diff, compared to say 5 years ago. Too bad the article didnt' get more indepth.

i can tell the diff between mp3 128 and anything below it, but above it, no
