Anyone know what's goin on?

I'm headed down for a bachelor party, or I guess, an afterparty, and I've never been. Anyone know what to expect? And if anyone's headed down, I'll be one of the 6'++ monsters wearing a suit....come say hi.

Thx.

Expensive cover and expensive drinks, that's what you can expect there :)
Atho
Before 2 it's a younger crowd playing top 40. After that they play house/trance

Well I didn't end up going anyway.....Kinda skipped out once I realized the $90 I spent on a bottle of vodka for a couple of friends was all drank by the random people at the bachelor party.....kinda ruined my 'afterparty' mood.

$15 cover and $6 drinks are a bargain compared to the rest of the world. Especially for the type of club Republik is.

Toronto is discount clubbing at its finest and you need only to venture as close as Montreal, Detroit or New York to discover this.

all night its a mix of house, trance and urban. Leaning more toward the house and trance side. Lil Pete is doing his best to minimize the urban radio cheese but sadly these days some of it does need to be played from time to time.

Yeah but when they are charging you cover, you still have to pay $6 for a rum and coke? Thats too much. Do not even mention $5 for a bottle of water, for which you can buy a case of 24 for $3. Thats over a $100 profit on one case of water!

Just because its expensive everywhere else in the world, doesnt mean it isnt expensive here. You have to look at the prices of a drink in comparison to local wages, not international standards.

if you look at it compared to wages its an even bigger difference in many cases.

Why is it that people always whine about nightclubs making a profit? Meanwhile they have no issues buying the same can of coke at a restaurant for $2 that the restaurant paid 75 cents for at the supermarket next door? Thats just one example. Profit happens everywhere yet nightclubs arent supposed to make money...

I hear the same thing about guv and their water prices. Did you know that a bottle of water in Ibiza is €11? And dont tell me that people in Europe make 3 times our wages.

I think we're missing the point. I paid $90 for two shots of vodka, and found out exactly how good the best man is.....

I'd gladly trade Toronto bar prices if it means I don't get ripped off like this again.
