Who said anything about HRT??
(Hang on a sec, wheres your factory team though??:conf: )
Murph - the only good thing to come from NZ:D
Been following him since his old HRT days (yeah yeah, okay) when he was with Brock and then Lowndes, woulda been 96ish I reckon.
And yes, this year has been a bit painful:( |

What you you rekcon about that young Courtney boy for next year?
Reckon he'll be competitive, or give him a year or two to settle?
Or no good?
V8 Supercars are a lot different to open wheelers or Japanese sportscars |

uhhhh, lets see how my memory serves me.
Formula Ford in England, did very well
Was a tester for Jaguar F1 and was in their Formula 3 team, did pretty well too
Had a big bingle in a Jag F1 or F3 car, massive falling out with the team (was a mechanical failure I think, but rumour has it they were trying to pin the blame on him)
Went to Toyota F1 team as a tester, still in English or Euro F3, did well
He left the Toyota test team last year
I think the last year or two he's been in Japanese sportscars, from memory doing well.
He's a very talented driver, no doubts about that, but every overseas driver thats come here has made comment about how hard the V8 Supercars are, both on a competition and driving level. Look at Max Wilson, former Williams F1 tester, struggled in some competitive cars here. Alex Yoong the same. However Courtney did drive for HRT at Bathurst this year and did do quite well for a first timer.
I'm actually really looking forward to seeing him drive, its gonna be exciting I think. I wouldn't be surprised to see him up the front quite quickly. |
