Bootleggers are gay. Bought a copy of Funkymix 91 on eBay and I got a CD-R in the mail :whip:

The guy has 100% feedback too, sells legit software.. I don't understand why he would sell me a bootleg of this.

:mad:

Bootlegs = gay.

So? If you ever get pwned by the RIAA...just be like. "Cut teh b1sh! I got these ch00ns on ebay & the guy said they were legal so I was going to pay for the legal one, but the sent me a cd-r...not my fault, go sue him."

Someone who isn't me bootlegs stuff at his school :toothless

edit: false advertising sucks though

that happened to me on ebay once with a pearl jam cd... if he doesnt have cdr copy mentioned on his orignial post then he just broke the rules of ebay for false advertisement... just simply email him back telling him this and say youll give him negative feedback and also report him... if nothing then then report him... he should loose his account and wont be able to open another until his ip addy changes

Probably minutes, it's very easy to get a new IP address even if your ISP uses static IP addresses. In fact you can just usually just call them and ask them to change it and they will, just make up some bull if they ask you why.

I find it hard to believe that eBay would use IP bans anyway. Any webmaster who uses IP bans is an idiot, because then that old IP (which is banned) could easily get assigned to some poor innocent person who might be a legitimate user, sooner or later. And it's not a good way of keeping a determined person banned anyway. Not a smart way of handling things.

I'd imagine someone selling bootlegs on eBay would already be prepared for the possibility anyway. So basically it would just be insanely stupid to ban an IP for that reason.

It goes both ways, bootlegs are also a good thing. I got some of the best mixtapes, documentaries and movies on bootleg that will never see a release. I remember seeing a crazy movie called the City of God on a bootleg DVD way before it finally got a release. I know people hate bootleggers but everbody gotta eat, the industry.
