GEM and Godskitchen Canada accommodate spectators following incident at Circus Afterhours’ Tiësto event
All ticket-holders that purchased advance tickets through Ticketbreak.com will receive a free ticket for a special Tiësto event at the Medley.
Montreal, Friday, December 2, 2005 – GEM and Godskitchen Canada announced today they are implementing measures to redress the disruptions that occurred at Circus Afterhours during last Friday’s Tiësto event.
GEM and Godskitchen Canada will be providing customers that purchased an advance ticket to the November 25 Tiësto event through Ticketbreak.com with a free ticket for a special show where Tiësto will be performing at the Medley on December 20.
The incident that occurred at the November 25 event was the result of a deplorable set of circumstances, compounded by the fact 1,500 people showed up at the door hoping to buy tickets, even though GEM and Godskitchen Canada had announced two weeks prior to the event that the concert was sold out.
The state of confusion outside the club and the ensuing delay as people waited for the doors to open prompted the management of Circus Afterhours to replace its entire security staff. Because of the delay, event-goers were late getting settled, and the promoters wanted everyone to be in place before Tiësto began playing. Toward the end of the evening, as police presence was increased, the event promoters were concerned that police planned to close down the club, a move they feared might lead to problems. Consequently, the Tiësto set was cut short of its scheduled six-hour duration.
Those who purchased a ticket through ticketbreak.com or the Circus box office that did not get their ticket scanned at the point of entry and still have their physical ticket will also be entitled to a full refund.
“We understand people’s frustration and we apologize to all of those who had to experience this unfortunate situation,” stated the event promoters. “We want to express our gratitude to the spectators for their patience and understanding and we want to provide Tiësto with the opportunity of returning to play for his fans under better circumstances, without any interruptions.”

Show ends at: 3:00 a.m.
To get your free ticket: Ticketbreak.com will send an e-ticket to ticket-holders who purchased advance tickets for the November 25 Tiësto event.

I spoke with the promoters about this and it seems pretty clear already in the press release, but for the record: Tiesto will be playing a set at the Medley on Dec 20.
