Welcome to the INFANTRY SOCIETY of ALBERTA (ISA). We are a private, non-profit civilian organization that conducts infantry/special forces training for recreational purposes. We are not affiliated with the Canadian Forces Regular/reserve or Canadian government in any way. We are not a business, paintball or airsoft group. We are serious military enthusiasts that use real weapons and train in all weather and terrain in Alberta. Most of us are ex- infantry that still enjoy doing infantry related activities such as shooting, unarmed combat, survival, navigation, first aid etc but are out of the military now and have no interest in returning but still enjoy these activities. We believe our training is better then the actual military because we do not have the restrictions they do and we focus on core subjects where as in the actual army you may be deployed for a year on peace keeping or your unit may not have the time, funding or interest in certain subjects like survival, unarmed combat or knife fighting as an example. Instruction in ISA is FREE and training is at cost. You supply your own rifle, field gear etc. You can wear what you like, there is no BS “drop and give me 20” no cleaning, yelling etc. We are modeled mostly on the British army particularly the SAS. You’ll be told what to do and how long you have and we expect it done, you’re either good or your gone. We spend 95% of our time in the field training the remainder on social events such as watching special forces documentaries, discussing the latest in infantry/special forces weapons, gear and technology and show and tell on each mans personal gear and weapons.

LMAO

How can they do this, with the Canadian gun control laws?

Oh well, they will probably be shut down as soon as they have an accidental shooting, during a "training" exersize.

If you have a Canadian Forces ID card or are ex-military or even in the reserves.. you can buy weapons that are not available to civilians.

only if you have a prohibited arms license (which is usually pretty easy to get if you have military training and a spotless record).
