hehe, so I had a string of bad luck, after scheduling everything so all 4 profs had time, ends up 2 didn't show. A committee is made up of a chair (my mentor) 2 inside department profs, and one outside member. Well the chair and the outside member didn't show. The chair didn't show cause he forgot and was showing around this guy we might hire, and the outside guy slept in.
so no proposing went on. Ill reschedule for it in 2 weeks.
and yes, im going onto mah phd. |

Boomer should take advantage of this while he's still young and not end up preparing for his PhD at an old age like most of my professors at my university or any other one for that matter. |

its a double edge sword. I have gone straight through school, meaning I've had no goo djob for an extended period of time, meaning I have never had excess money. This means I have not traveled or experienced many other things. People say you should take a year or two (or more) off between undergrad and grad school to experience things, then you can figure out what ya like.
but that side can be bad, cause then im in my early 30's trying to get a degree to a job that takes 6 years of hard work to secure.
but yea im going straight through...:D |

That's the worst part. You're getting older and older and you haven't experienced life the way you want to. I'm in the same boat. My major, for instance, is very demanding and so easy to fall behind, but I always keep thinking that it will all pay off in the end. Hang in there and good luck! |

You know, I hate to say this but, a chairperson (your mentor) not showing up to your proposal because he forgot is pretty low, dude. |
