Here's the problem...
I have a small sample which I want to make a melody with, but it's only about 1-2 seconds in legnth and I need to make it longer. When I go to 'Piano Roll' in Fruityloops however much I extend the note the legnth remains the same. I don't want to timestrech or moderate it because it would completly change the timbre/pitch...anyone got any ideas? |

the envelope isnt length, its how much volume is "played" at that part of the sample.... anyways, with pianoroll, some samples wont change length. You have to go into the settings for the channel and *some* have a "loop point" or something like that, option. if you select it then the note can change length. if it dont have it then youre done for. yeah, you'd have to find a program like acid or something that can create "seemless looping", then export the acid-looped wavefile into fruity. then you could check a little checkbox on the sample edit window that says "looped"
it would play until the next note for it in step seq mode, on the piano roll it would play until the piano roll note ended. Thats why after looping it you have to make a volume envelope for it.
cheers
