Short Version:
Okay it seems that Chris Tucker is finally letting go of script approval since he's not getting one, but he managed to get his salary bumped to $20 million dollars for the movie alone. A little too much money for a nooben of an actor. I mean that guy hasn't even paid his dues yet, but he's still funny though.. Personally, I've been waiting for this movie to come out for ages. I love the first two...looking forward to this one.
Long Version:
New Line Cinema feels like it’s cruising in the carpool lane now that Chris Tucker has finally agreed to a deal for “Rush Hour 3.”
It took an offer of $20 million against 20 percent of the gross to get Tucker to sign on. Under the deal, the actor has also agreed to give up script approval, which was a major obstacle in previous negotiations. According to Daily Variety, Tucker agreed to let go of script approval on the condition that the final draft matches what was pitched by returning screenwriter Jeff Nathanson.
Tucker’s co-star, Jackie Chan, will get $15 million against 15 percent of the gross, and will also own the film's distribution rights in China and Hong Kong.
Brett Ratner also returns as director, fresh from helming “X-Men 3.” He’ll get an increase in the upfront part of the $5 million-against-five percent-gross deal he pocketed for “Rush Hour 2.”
New Line has the option to greenlight the film by May, based on script approval and a budget the studio hopes won't exceed $120 million. The film will go into production next summer in the U.S. and Paris for a summer 2007 release.
The film was supposed to begin production this fall for release next summer. While the movie was on ice, Nathanson rewrote the “Indiana Jones 4” script for George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.
“Rush Hour 3” will be Tucker’s first film since 2001’s “Rush Hour 2,” which grossed $226 million in the U.S. |

so 40 million for 2 actors and a director in an Action flick....sounds like this could be really bad. |

yeah, jackie chan is so funny and most of all a humble guy. By the way this movie is going to be filmed in summer 2006 and expected to be released sometime 2007, so that opening night is going to be a while. |

| The first two was great and I don't see how this one won't be either. Just like X-Men 3 from the same director will be as good as the first two, I think this one will be as well. |

I love that part: "buttercream, buttercream, what size is the waist..." and then Chris tucker backs off when jeremy reaches for his waitsand calls him sweetness or fruity cupcake, something like that. That part was funny too:haha: |
