ya rly. i just love denis leary's charecters. he always plays charecters that are both sarcastic and on the edge of insanity. great! |
Me too! Love Denis Leary... he was great in the Ref.. the movie, not so much. He was also kickass in Suicide Kings!! Walken and Leary are unreal!!
Funny thing about it was they were confiscating cell phones with cameras on them in case you were taping the movie. Trust me, if I taped the movie, I would have smashed my phone on the ground right after. At least this was free... if I paid for it, I'd honestly demand my money back! |

I have yet to see a decent adaptation of any comic, besides X-men and Spiderman. The rest turned out to be hairy turds - Hellboy, fantastic four, daredevil, etc. |
The first Blade was superb. |

| i was suss about the premise of the movie in the first place. I wouldnt be suprised if it got hollywood-ified(hey, i made a new word). The original was basically a piss-take of action movies, in which the hero, simply cos he is the hero, would never die. Aeon flux was the opposite, she always died. How can this concept possibly translate into a money making hollywood movie at all? |

| even before seeing the trailer, i could tell it would suck. MTV AF was a mind, it didnt follow the normal rules and thats what made it special. there wasn't always a plot resolution, most of the time you just didn't know what was going on or you were more confused at the end but, it didn't matter because it was interesting and it was creatively done. its no wonder that hollywood with its cookie cutter plots and happy endings would kill this remake. |

all the Guild is, is a bunch of people who work under it including directors, actors, costume designers, grips, producers, screenwriters, etc.
Sure it makes things increasingly difficult for someone not part of the Guild, because actors (sometimes) won't accept a role under a director who's not part of the Guild. Vice Versa. There's a long headache involved with getting the "OK" from the Guild Association + whichever studio is financing the project.
So, in that regard, yeah you're right. it is beneficial to be part of the Guild. But in George Lucas' case, he quit the Guild and went on to Direct and produce the most profitable and successful sci-fi movies ever made. Because of this, he is rich and famous and also people (actors, screenwriters, directors, etc) all would like to work for him.
Look at Robert Rodriguez as another example. He had a hell of a time trying to get big name actors for Sin City, until he showed snippets of what he could with his computer. Bruce Willis got in touch with him (even though Willis is part of the Screen Actor Guild), and Rodriguez was able to get a high-profile actor.
In the grand scheme of things, the Guild is a majority and majority almost always rules so cases like Rodriguez and Lucas are few and far between, but I was just pointing that out because I like playing Devil's Advocate on this board :p |

Exactly my point #1. And yeah Aeon used to die at every episode, i do remember that. Wasn't she having a relationship with that Trevor guy as well? It's been so long that I can't remember the specifities of the show anymore. |
