Destiny was a great tune and the break in that tune is just beautiful, besides the vocals ofcourse, like said before.

He does indeed create some amazing melodies. He really is the master of huge breakdowns in trance with the huge saw strings and lush piano melodies. My fav without a doubt tho is Ace Da Brain - Sunrise (Ace's Delight Mix) almost makes me wet my pants everytime

Ace Da Brain is my favorite producer! Best Track that I like from him is

Pervading Call - No Time To Rest(Ace Da Brain Mix)
That track has so much emotion and energy, Piano hitting hard on the beats! OMG! i go crazy everytime I hear it.
Stanza
You guys gotta check out his latest release called "Trinity".
Absolutely mind blowing stuff. I think this brings back the golden memories when good quality German trance dominated the scene.

Andreas is a genius, such a great producer.... dont think for a minute Marc La Cruz did any productional work, Andreas (Ace) produced all of the tracks, Marc is a DJ that spins Techno nowadays.....

Andy is one of the nicest people you could speak to as well.... chat to him on ICQ now and again :)

nice thx.

personally my favourite at the moment is Depths of Doom because its got melody, but also a bit of hardstyle kick

i need to be in a certain mood to listen to those stringed songs and appreciate them, for example now i find them tedious, but another day i would like them lol

He is a hell of a producer and his new production trinity shows that he still got it. He is so underrated and its sad that people with real skill don't get the recognition they deserve.
Abhay
He's awesome....

especially the trax that he's made for George Acosta.

My favourite:

The Reaper
DJAzza
Agree with all the above. He is definitely THE most underrated producer in trance. Its about time Armin started spinnin some of his stuff instead of all that Gabriel n Dresden bollocks on his ASOT shows. He deserve's so much more recognition he has done so many superb tracks i don't even know whats my fav there all wicked.

hey check this out:

Here's my long-time-coming tribute to the bonafide God of the hard trance scene, a German bloke a few months younger than me they called Andreas Schmidt.

Nobody else makes trance like the Germans. They invented it after all. Before the Dutch takeover in the late 90's the Germans were still the kings of the scene and relied upon those timeless trance ingredients - whopping bassline, pounding kickdrum, combined with massive synths. If it wasn't for the Germans we might all be listening to prog instead right now :nervous:

Since the Dutch takeover though they seem to get somewhat overlooked these days (PVD excluded, naturally). But that doesn't mean they still don't produce top quality stuff.

Over the past three years or so I've been collecting up Andreas's work, and more than anything it astounds me that he's not a global sensation. He's without a doubt the most under-rated trance producer on the planet that I can think of. Every time I seem to play his stuff people ask me what the hell it is and how come they've not heard it before - I can only name a handful of amateur DJs I've ever seen drop any of his work in their sets, and apart form the times I've played them, I've never had the pleasure of hearing any of his tunes in a club.

So here he is, your new favourite producer - Andreas Schmidt, aka Ace Da Brain:

Ace Da Brain - Trinity (Aerial mix)
Aces Delight - Mental Theme (Ultra Trance mix)
Ace Da Brain - Magic Waters
Pervading Call - No Time To Rest (Ace Da Brain mix)
Ace Da Brain - Sunrise
Ace Da Brain - Mental Theme (Ace Da Brain's Hell On Earth mix)
Ace Da Brain - Trinity (Hard mix)
Ace Da Brain - Sunset
Ace Da Brain - Depths Of Doom
Pervading Call - No Time To Rest (X900 mix)
Baced vs Aces Delight - Witness

It works out at 66 minutes so its also CD friendly. By the way Pervading Call is a collaboration between him and Sebastien Ostermann, who's also X900. Be sure to check out his page on Discogs for a full rundown of his discography and aliases.

If I had to pigeon-hole him for those who've not heard of him before, I'd say he's somewhere inbetween Nu-Nrg and Alphazone. And lets face it, they both rock, but personally, I think he leaves them both standing ;)

Plus he's also spot on as I recently dropped him an email regarding the release of his new EP (Depths Of Doom/Magic Waters) and he replied all of 3 minutes later :)

Enjoy! :D

I. Love. Ace da Brain. He's the only producer I know that can match Geert Huinink (Photon Project) when it comes to intensely emotive, astoundingly melodious epic trance masterpieces. But like a lot of talented producers, his music is just nowhere near bland enough to appeal to the masses, who for some strange reason lack the drive and the brain capacity to look outside the ASOT box once in a while.

Idiots.

But at least for those of us that know better, there are producers like Ace da Brain keeping our faith in trance music ticking over. My only criticism is that I can't buy Magic Waters (or indeed a lot of his stuff) on CD. Boo hiss!
