I think my hair has gone emo

so i'm growin out the faux hawk, and been doing different things with my hair since it's in the awkward stage... so instead of flipping it all out girly style, i developed this look tonight:
i kinda like it but i feel like it falls into the emo category.... :conf: |

get rid of that black streak and maybe it is the lighting but try a different hair color.
post pics of you hair before, to see which suits you better.
ps. why do they call it Faux Hawk.
