The 9/11 commission gave the President a report card today on the country's terrorism preparedness. One A-, 12 Bs, 9 Cs, 12 Ds, and 5 Fs later (+ two incomplete for reforms still in progress) we have little to show for this new government agency we've created.

I know counter-terrorism measures are new, but by this point, I'd hope things would be evened out. The CNN article I'm linking to notes that money is distributed equally, so Butf, Montana gets the same anti-terrorism money as Los Angeles, which is leading to pointless spending, such as body armor for police dogs.

I'm all for taxes in a sense, but this type of spending is insane. Stories about thousand dollar toilet seats don't even remotely shock anymore and corporate built law is becoming the rule. I'd like to see more government accountability, but for the moment, there seems to be no end in sight for bureaucratic waste and spending.

what about our pussies?

yo, u should bring this to the political discussion forum, youde get more serious responses there and people who actually care.

the government is full of useless spending, that comes with having the largest income from taxes in the world. but, yea, thats an outrage, and somebody with some rationality needs to step in and correct it.

its called bureacracy. red tape. politics. a dirty business.

what's even more pissing off is that certain corporations with huge lobby support try to put their own business agenda into the antiterrorism laws. like amending that music piracy is a type of cyberterrorism:rolleyes:

Indeed :(

Labeling anything as terrorism these days really gets people's blood boliling and their willing to allocate funds to figthing it. I bet there are people downloading and sharing movies and music right now who support government using tax money to fight terrorism without realizing they're a target.

I also find the blatant merging of business and government leadership to be frightening. Labor unions are equally corrupt. Everyone wants to be in power so they can rape the pie and take their share of the spoils...
