hey, just wanted to say i think the DC thing is a great idea, it lets us share our tunes much quicker and we can even chat at the same time!
its alot quicker,funner and more efficient
for all of you guys that are worried about leechers. i dont think it will be a very big problem considering this is only for ta's that are known on the boards. everyone is friends and no one would want to piss anyone else off
besides we could make a leech rule like first time is a warning second time is ban
unles the other person let you leehc
etc.. etc... |

EDIT : btw i was using this program which is why i had the idea and i have to say its a great one i dont see a negative point with it it will make sharing alot easier and restrict it to the private accounts of other TA's which would make me and im sure many other people more inclined to share all thier stuff as opposed to audiogalaxy where any old chump can leech my hdd silly, so on that note i think it is much better than using ag or kazza or whatever cause its like a personal server... for all of us and since we all have a fair bit of stuff im sure we can find whatever we need through the other tas another advantage is the program lets you share everything as well as mp3s so thats pretty cool and it would just mean we can all share our stuff in an easy and effecient way as opposed to audiogalaxy which is HUGE and everyone can have a go at it, this way we know its other ta's leeching and its cool cause its more personal and therefore (hopefully) everyone will share up... i really hope this takes off! |

| Good luck to you, but neo is right, all the people who have the tracks wont share them, as they still want to use there connection, and not have their bandwith killed by leechers, but hopefully it will work. But Neo is right again, it wont be able to be associated with TA, coz of legal reasons |

But I just want to outline a few more points for clarification:
- Leeching is minimal: it is a private Hub, which means your files can only be accessed by members of that Hub (which are all trusted, regular TA members). Unlike AG, non-members of the Hub will not have access to these shared files (when you share files in AG, any AG user can access them and "kill" your u/l bandwidth, which by the way doesn't affect d/l bandwidth).
- A group of TA's wanted to undertake the DC idea (not all TA's), so it doesn't at all have to be associated with TA.com; instead, the DC group can be considered as a "group within a group". If Swamper doesn't like what's going on, then immediately this idea will be discontinued. If there are legal infringements, the problems will be resolved as quickly as possible. Note that the DC idea involves absolutely no public advertising of TA.com nor the Hub because everything is kept as private as possible. The closest thing to advertising is this thread.
This Direct Connect group is based on almost the exact same principles as the TA AG group, except Direct Connect can possibly provide a more private, fun, and organized setting for TA's. To put this thought in to perspective, if the AG group idea failed when it first began, then this idea will most likely fail too. Since the AG idea boomed, there is definite hope for a DC community to succeed too :) (But no doubt this idea may fail, I am not disagreeing with you) |

So far this has been going very well when people are in the hub. No one is stingy about sharing and people will generally stay on for you to download the songs you have queued up! Everyone keep signing up, this is a great thing.
