Callie and I just got back from Punta Cana in the Dominican... Wee stayed at the Bahia Principe Bavaro...

I do a lot of vacationing... all over the caribbean... and I must say that the Bahia Bavaro was for the layout of the resort... one of the best in the entire caribbean... and the a la carte dinners are excellent...

St Maartin boring as hell. There is nothing for you to do when you're underage there, and unfortunately for me when I went, that was the case.

Of course it wouldn't matter now, as most TAs are clearly over the legal age, but when there is only Cherie's Cafe and Q-Club as entertainment, it kinda sucks going to a movie theatre to see Freaky Friday and then wonder why there is an intermission.

Thanks for the great replies guys!

We are pretty much limited to Mexico/Dominican for now.. as I do not have a passport, just a birth certificate. Ive confirmed with a few different travel agencies that these countries are basically my only options.

I know if your lucky a passport can be processed in a few business days, but I dont want to take the risk of it not being done on time and then get screwed over. Im sure the passport office is insanely busy this time of year too.

Price-wise, our target is around $1000.00 total for both of us. No, we arent cheap... but if we are booking last minute, we might as well take advantage of the sweet deals. The best lastminute site I've seen is www.redtag.ca . Ive booked through selloffvacations.com before, and no complaints - but this site is by far the cheapest ive come across. We arent too picky about destination really, but if we have the option to choose then we should do a lil research (hence this thread).

That would be awesome - Armin is also in Acapulco on the 28th. Would have been the perfect time to visit!

Apply personally at any passport office, show them your flight itinerary, and you should get your passport before you leave.

I'm planning on going to the Iberostar Paraíso Maya in July for honeymoon.

My aunt and uncle went there for two weeks in March-05 and had rave reviews. Iberostar Paraíso is a series of 4 resorts built next to each other on a strip of beach. The Maya was built in late 2004 (so it's new) and is private/exlusive from the other 3 resorts (Maya has it's own restaurants, pools, bars). Staying at the Maya allows one access to the facilities of the other 3 resorts (buy Maya and you get full access to all 4 properties).

Iberostar Paraíso Maya (5+ Star)

http://www.iberostar.com/iberostar....di=5&idiocodi=2

- 430 junior suites each with jacuzzi, dvd player, balcony, upgraded amenities and concierge service.

- 17 full service bars (some private for Maya guests).

- Exclusive dining plus dine around privileges at over 16 restaurants (some private for Maya guests).

- Two lake pools, a spectacular wave pool, a lazy river and 4 quiet pools, plus private Maya guest pools.

- Guests of the Maya have access to all the services and facilities of the neighbouring Iberostar Paraiso Lindo, Paraiso del Mar and Paraiso Beach hotels.

You don't, trust me. That's where my parents and I stayed. Let me show you some pictures...

Free Image Hosting at <a href=www.picturetrail.com"/>

Maho Beach Resort, which is the direction of the shot with your airplace in it :)

Free Image Hosting at <a href=www.picturetrail.com"/>

Cherie's Cafe, the only source of entertainment outside the Q-Club nightclub right next to it.

Free Image Hosting at <a href=www.picturetrail.com"/>

Orient Bay, a mini-excursion to a Beach 1hr+ away, where you spend maybe 30 minutes at. Better off going on your own instead of through a tour. Awesome trampoline out in the ocean though.
