Shame, but i still like him. Would be interesting to see him in films where your not just waiting for the fight scenes.
Still, to quench our martial art thirst we still have up and coming actors like Tony Jaa (Ong-Bak) to look out for.
I'm still yet to see "Unleashed"....is that any good? |

| Unleashed is kinda wack, wait for someone to burn it for you on dvd, dont think about going out and spending ur loot to rent it/buy it, its not worth it imho |

that's not true - it was an OK flick. It was directed by Luc Besson and has a bit of a Doberman (french flick) meets Snatch/LSATSB feel to it but without the humour. It's a bit sugar-sweet for my taste and would have been better if they had some comic releif. But great fight sequences with plenty of French (notoriously violent) action.
Yeah, I guess I'd rank it "borrow it". The only cool thing is that soundtrack (and few songs) are by Massive Attack. End credit song is def. remix-worthy. |

| Unleashed, or Danny The Dog, as it's originally termed, is one of his best movies. Better than or tantamount to Kiss Of The Dragon. Written by Luc Besson, who's also responsible for The Professional, or Léon, and La Femme Nikita, this movie was bound for singular excellence which was rightly due. |

After doing martial arts flicks for as long as he has been, it's not surprising that he wants to venture into other genres. It's physically demanding y'know. Even Jackie Chan, who prided himself on doing all his own stunts, eventually resorted to using a stunt double and special effects.
Shame there wasn't a big budget Jet Li vs Jackie Chan hollywood flick though. |

Just to clear things up a bit here, it seems that "Fearless" will be Jet Li's final conclusion to Wushu. So it is more in a romantic poetic sense where he is pretty sure that he can not convey the meaning of wushu any higher than what he has done with in Fearless.
It seems that the media mis-interpreted his words or prehaps it was done in purpose to help publicity and hype for the movie!
He will still do action and fighting movies no doubt about that! :o
Just don't expect the good old Wong Fei Hung or Fong Sai Yuk type movies again. [unless it is a mega fantastic super script]

look into this discussion before writing about it and you shall see that the fight would've between the stupid people who actually bought tickets versus the people who sold them the tickets for a stupid showdown such as this. |

Well there were actually talks of the big budget movie, confirmed from both parties... it was first mentioned in 2003 in March I think - but they've been too busy to take any further steps thus far.
There's still a slight chance though since it hasnt been 100% confirmed that the project has been dropped! |
