Sweetchilli feat. Luke Chable: Dec 23

What happens at the end of the cliché? In Luke Chable’s case you’re left with talent to burn. There is only so long a person can adequately be described by such terms as ‘wonder-kid’ before they are either buried beneath the weight of expectations or new adjectives are needed to portray them.

Now 25, Chable has progressed far from that talented teenager of only a few years ago, having established himself as one of the foremost dance music producers on the international stage. With over 70 productions and countless remixes attributed to his name, far from being regarded as over-exposed, it is testament to his talent that each new release is keenly anticipated by his growing legion of fans and seldom are they disappointed by the results.

Its Christmas... and were going out of 2005 with a bang as we welcome back Luke, fresh off his worldwide therapy sessions tour, Luke returns to us for the 3rd time ... and were damn excited! its $20.... only on the door. and luke will be supported by Crispin and Myself, Robbie Lowe Brendon Watson and Alex Mac...

I have seen Luke play twice. Once at Private Function & at Sasha. Both sets were good but the start of his set at sasha didnt go down too well - I am not a fan of electro in a big room. It did get better though and I enjoyed the last half of it!

He should do well at candy's. If not, I guess you can flame me afterwards.

Support home grown talent kiddies :happy2:

I've heard luke play twice - once it was at Anthony Pappa's Balance 006 release party here in Melbourne, where he played a superb set of melodic, edgy progressive with the type of tight and twisted percussion that makes your ears tingle and your brain go fuzzy. to make a long story short, by the end of his set i was (and remain) a fully brainwashed member of the church of chable.

The second time, i was at home playing some tunes, having left room halfway through James Zabiela's knob-twiddling stunt show and on a high from having heard Nic Fanciulli rip the place apart. I got a series of text messages from a certain northside TA prog-bomber that went something like this:

450AM - 'yo where'd you go'
505AM - 'luke chables on now you comin back?'
515AM - 'dude this is wicked'
525AM - 'ftw my ears just fell off get back here'

so i packed up and went back to room and, um, yeah, it was worth the going-out-all-over-again to catch the last 70% of Luke's set, which was awesome - driving edgy banging melodic chunky funky progressive. by all reports his sets here at some of the smaller prog nights in town have been similar.

as for what happened before sasha, i have no idea as i wasn't there until just before sasha got up to check his email and defrag his hard drive (or whatever he was doing, i'm pretty sure he was on MSN with diggers at one point?), but i'd imagine luke did what any of us would have done if we had to warm up a massive venue full of sasha fans - been a tiny bit nervous, and been a tiny bit unsure of exactly what to play.

if he's the headline at sweetchilli, i'd imagine he'll let loose as he has when i've seen him. if i wasn't working the next day (and used up two sick days already this week) i'd probably fly up and see him - i hear its a great venue. :)
