In Praise Of: Rollo

No, not 'Faithless' Rollo. Well, kinda.

I'm talking about the works the man's done in the past (near and far) that deserve some recognition, but tend to get overshadowed by his supergroup work.

Of course, we all know of Felix, and I'm sure Dusted has garned well deserved, if not as much, attention. How about O.T. Quartet for some fun stuff? Or his absolutely fabulous remix of the Pet Shop Boys', um, Absolutely Fabulous? Let's sing the praises of the other side of Rollo!

good producer, he should get more credit than he gets. he is the driving force behind faithless but he has done alot more, the dusted project is one of his best, all the "Rollo goes" singles are great aswell. i heard that he a funny man also, but a shy one aswell.

I love his style of production. I think it's because he has synaesthesia. Whatever the reason, he manages to create really organic, textured sonic landscapes. Little tiny flourishes and touches you can barely hear that wrap around the meaty elements and make for a gorgeous end product. In my opinion, one of the deftest and finest producers in dance music.

Rollo is a great producer i also really enjoy his work.

ps. this is the problem with TA...you start a thread about a class act legend in EDM...and only 2 people reply because no one knows who you're talking about :/

I'm not a fan of all of his works but for the most part i enjoy what he has done over the years. As said, Dusted is quality (one of my fav Rollo related productions is 'Dusted - Deeper River', which was made for the soundtrack of 'A Life Less Ordinary'.) and his numerous great collaborations with other artists have sure given him the status what he is nowadays known for, for those that DO know who he is.

There is still sooo much of his works i haven't heard.
