Reaktor & CPU load in FL

Is Reaktor really CPU heavy, cos I just saved my file as a new version and deleted out 4 instances of reaktor and my CPU load dropped from 80 to 31!

PC :tongue2

BTW - I'm using Ross's v2 JP Ensemble and its knocking up about 17-18% of my CPU x 3. Thats over half of the total load on 3 sounds!

loading 1 instance of junatik from the reaktor 4 demo makes my CPU load go from 0 to 18% straight away. reaktor is like the cookie monster for cpu cycles.

solution. start bouncing stuff.

it is becoming apparant that FL Studio gets phucked in terms of CPU usage anyway. so you should be bouncing stuff every chance you get to squeeze every tiny bit of juice from the great fruit.

EDIT: god what a pun...

ive never had any problems with reaktor, and i use it with nuendo quite alot. i think some of the premade devices are fairly cpu consuming but i guess it depends what you are doing, my cpu hasnt had any problems so far.

the cpu load in reaktor depends on how many modules you have running simultaneously and how many effects.

build some synth with loads of oscillators, unison, delay with a loooooong delay time, crank the polyphony up, hit a 13th chord and watch as your PC dies in agonising pain.

that pain is doubled when using fl studio for reasons i dont understand why. but fl users just have to live with it.

Reaktor is a monster in CPU usage... well, a single oscillator with a filter and an envelope will only cost you 3% or so, but make that 4 oscs, 2 filters, 4 envelopes, 3 LFO's, delay, reverb and an equalizer and you have to cross your fingers hoping that when you press the play button there is still enough CPU juice left for explorer to crash instead of just freezing instantly :p
