Ok heres the thing. I didnt know what I thought about this when it first came up. I struggled with what position Id take on it because while I do not smoke, I still feel that its everyones right to make the decision to smoke, and we shouldnt be able to make them do anything. However, I dont think that this ordinance is preventing people from smoking. Instead, its upholding the rights of the people that really REALLY dont want to be around smoke. Its killing people that arent choosing to smoke, and these people shouldnt have to leave a restaurant because they cant breathe. |
you know, you have excellent points.... but you know what tho, I am also thinking that it's good to do for ALL of us because, in the end... smoking cigarettes doesn't do anything for you... now it'd be different if it had positive values to it, but does it?? I think its nice of them to do it, to save more ppl's lives--maybe? i used to be a smoker myself but one day it just was clear to me :disbelief ... smoking is anything but good for you! so its actually SO stupid to do it? i mean, one does nto smoke a cigarette for the flavor, are you kidding me? arlight, my drunken ass has said enough.... |

Are you 12? sake.
Madison enacted a smoking ban in June and, while I was first against it as I like to smoke while I'm out, after seeing it in effect I am all for it. Most bars have provided patrons with places to go outside to smoke and, yes even though it sucks when it's cold, it's way more worth it to not come home smelling like ass. Also, I personally like it because then I don't smoke as much throughout the night which leads to me feeling better in the morning. |
