| Okay, so I'm stationed in VA, but I live in NY, and I often drive home in the winter. This last time I did, my car slid off the road into the snowbank. I wasn't hurt, the car wasn't hurt, but it pissed me off. So right now, I'm trying to think of a (reasonably priced) solution to my traction woes. Also, further down the road, I'd like to buy me a Subaru WRX STi, get a four or five inch lift on it, and slap some all terrain tires on it during the winter months. I'm not sure how it would look, but it would make short work of any snow storm. Thoughts? I'd also like to get new gears for the transmission, adjust it more toward torque than power. Anyone know what kinda price range I'd be looking at for that? |

get a forester XT instead. cheaper, and essentially a lifted WRX without all the work.
ps. new trannys are very expensive and probably not worth it at all.
