It's a nice sentiment. But I wonder how many people gave thought to why NYE became something special.
It's just another day. Only big significance is that the next day, a different notation is used to mark dates.
I just think spending time with your S.O on a random, otherwise insignificant day is more important, rather than 'special' dates like Christmas, NYE, Valentine's Day, whatever.
Live everyday like it's special. :)
Ok. back to textbook |

Agreed.
Im working for the first half of the evening but plan on heading out afterwards. My boyfriend and I will most likely be doing seperate things, no biggie.
The whole kiss at midnight business is overated anyway! I've never understood why some people have to be with their significant other when the ball drops. Ill give him a kiss the next morning, same thing, it'll be just as special ;) |

| I'm going to have the house to myself for NYE (and most of the winter) :D More than likely will just invite some people over, get stupid and chill out in the hot tub! |

| Times square NYC (with the gf) and then heading home as soon as possible after the ball drop to get away from the hoards of tourists. Probably going to hit up a small kegger after I get back home since my best friend down there lives right next door and always throws something every year. But I'm not drinking at all either way since I have a the martial arts world cup starting 5 days afterwards. I should probably be in bed by 2:30am at the latest. You better believe that I'm making up for it come the 10th when I finish though! ;) |

I only get one warning... I was planning to use it up on an unintentional groin strike. ;) |

wish I could be up north in muskoka, that would rock. Blue would be cool too.
I cant decide what i want to do either, but I agree that the big nights (like nye, halloween) always end up being way to packed and its just a let down.
ill probably end up at home , getting hammered, spinning trainwrecks, or (if im lucky) slopeside , getting hammered :D |

So...anyone choosing to not go clubbing on NYE?
Personally I get caught up in the excitement and end up being disappointed, because it's just another night out...only 10x more expensive.
(Last yr I had a pretty good NYE b/c I had a wicked booking tho)
This year my BF and I decided to leave the city on New Years and spend 2 nights in Muskoka at a resort and spa so we can start 2006 off totally relaxed and refreshed. (but not much richer than had we stayed in the city, unfortunately!)
Anyone else having a chill NYE? |
not going to a club - can't do it anymore. I want to take the evening and NEW YEAR with the people I love around me. At a level where I can appreciate their company and the beats.... |
