transferring vinyl to CD

anyone ever done it? i'm pondering transferring my vinyl collection to CDs and mp3s. what bitrate would you use?
pkcRAISTLIN
why the would you mp3 your vinyl??? theres no excuse or reason for that. but if youre gonna do it anyway, go with a bitrate of 320 (if youre playing in clubs). DJs that play 192s in clubs are cheap & nasty bitches :p

So I'm guessing you know for a fact that you're never ever going to either lose break or damage any of your vinyl then? Got a 2nd copy of all of your vinyl I'm taking it? Never heard of beat juggling or doubling then?

I've ripped a few of my vinyls but, not as mp3's. I ripped to .wav and burned that.

If I was going to use them as mp3 files though, I would do it at 320 like pkc said.

if there will be only cdjs at the gig, i'd like to just be able to bring a cd case.....vinyl to wav to CD.

i'd like to keep a backup of the whole shebang. mp3 @ 320 on ext HD.

hooray!
