Story I heard from Gareth's brother :happy2:
So Carl Cox is playing this charity event in South Africa, he drops this record and it's all scratchy and ing up and everyone is like :wtf: !? He totally stops the music, gestures everyone to "wait", picks up the record and blows all the cocaine off of it. Throws the record back on and the party continues. |
How much did he tip the club owner? |

probably oakenfold when he has his residency at ice in vegas. he had like 8 wrecks, 3 stop and starts, and one matched transition.

| Donald Glaude at Crobar last weekend was pretty bad. I heard there might have been equipment issues and that people dancing on the stage were causing the records to skip, but it still sounded pretty bad. Great tracks, bad mixing. Not what I usually expect from him. |

he usually doesn't beatmatch here, he will do it live, it usually sounds really good, but who knows. And you should be able to tell if something was causing the music to skip....ud hear a skip. |

I saw him in the spring and he didn't sound like he did this past Friday. There were just a lot of points in the set where the flow just suddenly stopped, then started again. I don't really know, as I got really wasted that night and I don't DJ. I posted a review in the NY forum and the opening DJ posted that the records were skipping because of people dancing, which is likely, because I seem to recall it happening in the middle of a track at least once or twice.
Either way, it made good tracks sound bad. |
