That's evolutions really. For pros, the data medium is different, but the outcome will be the same.
I think for the next generation, it will be hard drives which hook up to turn tables(in a new fashion). That way a dj could take loads of music in a very small form factor.
Think about the searching capabilities they could put in the unites. Huge drives, lots of songs, all neatly organized.
As long as companies can still put in the turntable controls, which mimic the old style, i think it will be a positive step forward.
edit...i forgot they already did it.

agreed.
and yea Numark definitely has the right idea by putting a full size, real record as a part of their CDJ. it has the fantastic feel of vinyl, with the convience of cds and harddrives.
too bad the Numark CDJ's arent standard in clubs yet tho... |

Yeah, that would uber cool! I can't wait until DJs are able to play music off of hard drives but still use turntables... oh wait a minute... they already HAVE THAT. Ever heard of Final Scratch dude?
I chalk this up as another lame-as- iPod accessory. Apple earned my respect years ago when they went for the PowerPC and OS X projects, but they have completely lost all that respect with all the latest iPod garbage. |

ever tried reading?
i guess i wasnt thinking of final scratch like that becuase you have to use a laptop. I was thinking more along the lines of the Numark, where you carry just the drives. |
