PART ONE
I'm a ing idiot for waiting so long to get my snows on. Not that it would have mattered.
I ing was driving SOOOOOOOO carefully this morning; slower and more careful than I have EVER driven in my life. I took my sweet ing time getting to work this morning; 1.5 hours vs. normal 20 minutes.
I'm at the home ing stretch, literally 30 seconds away from my office parking lot at 404 and Highway 7. As I'm travelling west on Hwy 7 right through the 404 overpass, there's a traffic light right there, where people exit off the 404 southbound.
It's green and we're all cruising at like 50 km/h. Then, as the stupid ing lady in front of me is about to approch the intersection, the light turns amber and I'm expecting her to go through as it IS ing ice and snow everywhere and she was literally 10-15 meters away from the light.
No. She slams the brakes and comes to a stop. I wasn't expecting this so like a second later after having my foot on the gas, I react.
But it was too late. I slid right into her ass with no place to turn. Car on my left and I was in the right lane with no room on the right.
I ing blanked out and just braked and prayed I would stop, but I didn't stop early enough. I went right under her bumper (Nissan Pathfinder) and now am left with $5000 of damage. New hood, new right headlight, new bumber, and new fender.
Why didn't I take out the suspension and just ram the car into the side? Why didn't I leave more space between me and the other car (I was only about 10 meters away)? Why did I have to damage the other love of my life?!?!?!
Cale, I'm in an emotionally unstable state right now so PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE no quips about the Prelude :( It's a '97 so it's only worth about $7k and the damage is ing $5k.
Lessons learned:
1) no matter how careful you think you are being you can never be careful enough
2) leave 10 ing carlengths of space between you and the car ahead of you in the snow, whether you're wearing snows or not
3) PUT YOUR ING SNOWS ON FIVE DAYS BEFORE THE FIRST FORECAST!!!!!!!  :whip: :whip:
My beloved TAs, can you please make me feel better right now? I've never been so depressed, not even when I get into bitter fights with my family or fiancee. My poor car didn't even do anything wrong. It was all my fault :( :( :( :( :( :(
P.S. Swamper please don't ban me for the damage I did to the best car in the whole wide world. :nervous:
PART TWO
So I get out and check out my disaster and I go, shaking my head and completely overcome with guilt (even though I strongly believed that lady shouldn't have stopped in that circumstance)...she didn't even look in her rear-view when I was honking like a crazy mofo for about 3 seconds, the time I had as I was quite a ways behind her--I'm sure it was 20 meters, not 10.
Anyway, I walk up and she didn't speak a word of English. Her Nissan had practically no damage to its bumper, just a few scratches and some red from my paint. So she just says it's all okay and notes my license plate and drives off.
I was so ing depressed that I didn't even write down her license plate, or get any info. I just couldn't believe what I did to my beloved car.
Further proof of how stupid I am. :(
PART THREE
And I was in SUCH A ING GOOD MOOD this morning. I had a super-important presentation I was supposed to give to a Regional Vice President (my boss's boss) and I was totally prepared and dressed to the nines, and just thankful for my blessings...
Sometimes, I'll randomly be really thankful for what I have in life. My family, my religion, my education, career, my CAR...and I'll just be cruising along at the speed limit, thinking I'm such a good, law-abiding citizen. I know it's gay but that was exactly the moment I was in when the accident occurred.
What a ing joke! :(
I don't know how I kept my composure but the presentation went really well, to the point that the RVP congratulated me and said with my permission he'd like to share my presentation with the other VPs in the GTA. :) That was nice, but I'm still so ing depressed about my car :(
I'M SO PATHETIC!!!!!!!! SOMEBODY please put me out of my misery :( :( :( |

| Don't worry Fahad....you have two good adjusters that can help you out. I am sure you have stiffness in your neck, back and shoulders right now....and you are going to need someone to do the housekeeping and help get you dressed in the morning.....don't worry we can get that depression treated as well. If you need any advise just let me know. |

Thanks, buddy. :)
I really appreciate that. LOL at the stiffness! :p
Nah, I'm totally cool and so was the lady.
I guess my only fear is that she calls the police and gives my plate and says i was a hit-and-run or some like that.
btw am I allowed to be driving my car around with that much damage? Any laws against that? I was gonna drop it at my friend's shop on Monday morning.
And NO I'm not going through insurance :( |

| to avoid the hassle of hit and run claim from that lady make sure u report this accident to the colision centre. when u r there the cop will inspect ur car and let u know if u can drive it or not and place stickers where the damage is. this way ur ass is covered:) |

Hey Chem, would insurance find out if I did that? I went to my buddy's after work today and he said that if I reported it, insurance would find out...but I don't want them to!!! It's already way too high and I can't have another at-fault accident :(
I know, I know...I shouldn't be driving :( |

| Material things can always be replaced (yes, even a '97 Prelude)... what's important is that you (and the lady who was in front of you) are ok. |

| unless u make a claim i dont think the insurance would have anything to do with this or if the lady wants to put in a claim. or if the lady goes to the collision centre then u will be getting a phone call from the cop and u will be required to go to the collison reporting place. |
