PSP Emergency!!!

well here's the story.

Today I was making some coffee. I had my psp in one hand and decided I'd place it on the dining room table to be safe. So i go make the coffee, add in the half and half, sugar, and off i go to get the psp. In all this, my dog is barking at some dumb ass squirrel sitting by the window, doing i dont know what the hell. So I tell my dog to shut her fat ass up. I guess out of nowhere did my dog know i was behind her. So she hets scared and shoots off her opposite direction, which pretty much means she bumped into me. Keep in mind this aint no dachsund. This is one large ass golden retriever. As she shot out, given her reaction to my yelling scared her, she bumps into me, I trip, and I watch my psp fall to the ground. I wasnt worried about the coffee mug being broken, glass everywhere, and the dog licking the coffee. It was the psp my eyes were feasted on.

I managed to pick it up in one piece, except that when I tried to turn in on, it wouldnt do anything. Then I realize that holding it at an angle, I see that my screen has just cracked from one side to the other, almost diagnolly.

My biggest fear now is sending this thing off to Sony, and getting my balls ripped off by their repairing fees. I called earlier and asked to see how much alone was the screen going to cost me. $100 plus shipping, and thats if i knew how to install it myself, which of course their reaction to that was "NO SIR!! Send it to us and we'll guarantee your system will function correctly".

So this question goes out to all you cats that know how and where to get some good console/system parts over the counter, whether it's through the internet or a place in town. Does anyone have an idea on where I can get a hold of PSP parts? I will spend whatever to get it fixed. There's just no way Im sending it off to Sony, especially around this time of year where I have other more important things to spend my money on. I know that if i send it off to sony i will pretty much end up spending more that what I paid for it trying to fix it, and that just aint gonna happen.

Any suggestions?

Someway or another, you're going to have to get the screen directly from sony. Whether or not they install it or you find someone else to do it, it's going to cost you money. If you want it done right you might as well send it off to sony and just wait.

Sony will not repair yours. They'll send you a refurbished one instead. That's what they do with their car stereos. People think they get theirs back but a lot of times its an exact same one, but refurbished, probaby from some other person.

I'd check to see when your warranty expires, maybe you're still covered, but all in all, you have to tuff it out. I don't anyone has spare screen lying around and making one from scratch ain't going to happen.

Try calling up monitor/tv repair shops...but I don't think you'll have any luck. They'll probably be like wtf is a pee es pee?
