Street Legal is a program run to deter people from illegal street racing by offering a safer and more controlled environment. It's held every other friday night down at the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot in San Diego. Check streetlegal.com for more information. It's only $5 as a spectator and I believe $35 to race unlimited until midnight.
anyways, Tonight was GREAT! It was the last show of the year before the new season starts in January. There was a lot of free handouts, good food, a showcar competition and NICE CARS. There are plenty of import as well as domestic to fill anyone's preference. And don't you ever diss the classic VW rabbit, it was one of the fastest car out there for hours until we started seeing classic mustangs and camaros with tractor trailer slicks. Other oddities? How about a supercharged Saturn? a turbocharged Dodge minivan?
I've never seen so many casualities until tonight. Two Driveshafts broke. One of the cars looked like it was about to kill everyone but after holding such a high rev before the green, i believe he blew a piston. The last one just died as it was about to take off.
things got serious though before I left. A civic went down the track normally, but when it came time to slow down and return to the pits, the civic crashed and went into the bushes. From what I'd heard was that nobody had even seen his brake lights come on. Ambulance went and 45 minutes later, i just went back home.
anyways, just wanted to promote any new comers to go to Street Legal for a good time (and some red eyes) and fulfill their need for speed.
