then after about a thousand listens.. i fell in love with gu17.

+1

GU17 is huge. It took several listens to understand what is it all about. Tenaglia has something very unique and special in his track selections.
DJ Intrigue
I too would like to see from fresh faces. I wouldn't mind seeing a GU from some of these guys:

Tarrentella & Redanka
Lexicon Avenue
Behrouz (although he is more involved with the Yooshi mixes)
D:Fuse
Jerry Bonham
16B (I think he dj's)
sigmanova
i would definitely buy GU029 if it's D:Fuse behind the compilation. :D :toothless

:haha: :haha: :haha:

I can't believe the GU 028 > Balance 008 bashing going unopposed in here...

I love GU 028, but Balance 008 is probably my favorite thing released this year... that or Trousy...

i keed, but it didnt cater to that audience.

Luke fair released Os_3 on bedrock earlier this year..

it wasn't anything to write home about...

There's good mix cds, and there's GU 28. I've seen Nick Warren live a few times and he rocked it, I have many of his live sets and again he rocked it. When it came to GU 28 he simply didn't deliver. The first cd was absoulte crap, just dull and boring tracks that didn't really go anywhere. The 2nd cd stared the same and toward the end got a little better, but still...i've heard him do better.

So the fact that i'm "a trendwhoring techhead" doesn't really come into play. And if i'm trendwhoring what exactly are you? lol

Ill get to my accusation in a seconds.

I really can't agree with you about 28. Ive seen nick warren live as well about, and he rocked it as well. ok.

I just frind your review so inconsistent with everyone elses.. most peope found cd1 far more interesting and didnt like cd 2 as much... ok granted maybe he can do better, but this cd imo is a good gu. I dont think you can dismiss it so quickly.. he plays a lot of good tracks on both cds.

Im not a trendwhore because i like too many things to be called that. in fact right now im an anti whore. im getting ing sick of this "electro" tech garbage with a cheap drum loop and a bassline. and don't even get me started on popular house right now...

RJT, i still stand by gu28 > Balance 008.

For the guy who said 16b, ive seen hm spin live at a yooshi party in peru, he ing rocked the out of everything.

But he doesnt need a gu. hes full on yooshi.

I could go for oakenfold.

Lets face it, im a gu whore.

You must be taking the piss if you think you're no trendwhore. Do you see Bas's setlists? Compare them to yours. All of your is being played out by everyone, his isn't. Oh, but that's right, you discovered your music by "only listening to friends mixes and mixes in DJ promotion forum."

No, i said those were the only livesets i listen to.

It's not like I have a record store nearby, and i already know my november demo is full of tunes that are being caned by everyone. but don't compare my sets to those of a professionally released compilation series..

Wait til december.

I'm not taking the piss anywhere. and i wouldnt exactly call aftermath or half the other tunes on bas's demo underground. (no offense to you bas)

Yeah Aftermath totally isn't underground :p...but it's more meant for people and promoters here in LA not globally. In LA as well as other parts of America, the minimal/tech house and acid house sound is very new. So yes...it is underground minus Aftermath.

And i'm going to stand by what I said about GU: 28 being trash.

The last 2 GUs have been amazing and all the non GUXX releases have been awesome as well.

FUndacion, Lights out Three, etc.

I think tenaglia needs to do another one.

balance 008 sucked, desyn's only half way decent/original mix was his bedrock comp

Hehe, thats cool..

I guess a lot of the people i associate and talk to abotu edm are all like acid acid acid minimal (they only say mininal once because.. less is more)

I still wouldn't call it all underground minus aftermath.. off the top of my head the 2 tunes after aftermath have gotten a lot of play as well.. and a couple before.. doesnt matter, whatever...

I suppose im just getting annoyed with minimally sounds, but still UWM, my opinion of what comp is better really has nothing to do with my own sets.. as i listen to everything anyways, then make a judgment.
