Yeah my guess is Desyn got blazed and threw on some ch00ns..

Only cd2 impressed me and the trastition from halcyon to the next track was so horrible id rather've not had it on the cd at all.

Actually, it was a bottle of whiskey and "some additional supplements" that did it. Source

I hated that same transition myself, but there were some great tracks on both discs and CD 1 has grown on me.

Then, literally the day before it was due I threw away all my lists and plans and sat down with all the tracks Balance had cleared for me (about seventy total), a bottle of whiskey, and some additional supplements to keep me awake through the night and just did both discs one after the other without thinking about the direction, apart from disc one which I thought should be a bit more chill to begin with in order to ease the listener into the journey.

Yeah, it shows..

...and adding as some stated above John '00' Fleming - White Label Republic to "my" list.

//edit - nasty typo.

Ohhh come one!, ..., no one mentioned Ewan Pearson's Sci.Fi.Hi.Fi??, that was one of the best for sure in 2005

Check out Fundacion for sure, Balance 008, GU28, Zabiela's new renaissance cd and Sander's new Everybody on tour with Lee Burridge.

1. Hawtin DE9 Transitions
2. Sasha - Fundacion nyc
3. Danny Howells GU027 Miami
4. John Digweed - Fabric 20
5. Desyn - Balance 008

As much as the mixing in 008 was eh, I love the fact that Desyn mixed it like he did, instead of using ableton or something like that. The mix is raw and its him as a DJ, getting trashed and enjoying the music he loves while sharing it with other people.

And Fundacion, at the least, gets ranked this high because the mixing is absolutely gorgeous.

Hawtin's CD was just insane.

Lawl... that's probably my favorite transition on the whole CD...

My choices:

Matthew Dekay - Trousy
Desyn - Balance 008
Warren - GU 028
paranoik0
from the few cd's i've listened to, fabric 20.

fundacion was mediocre at best. utilities wasn't bad but zabiela can clearly do better. gu 27 was quite cool but not memorable. zero gold i could never get into it. balance 007 was very nice, but not solid enough throughout the whole 3 cd's.
