You wouldn't steal someone's hardware synth to get started producing would you? If you want to get to producing trance for little or no money you could start with:

V-Station - Under$100
Adventus - Under $50

I'm pretty sure we have all at some point gotten us a warez version of some synth, either to toss it away or evaluate it before buying, in some cases not buying it at all, or downloaded the latest Metallica CD or got Half Life 2 cracked online... but this subject is taboo on the internet. So if you don't want people in online forums bashing you for talking about it, or even worse, the FBI knocking down your door (that seems to be the trend lately...), then keep your mouth shut. |
