Anyone here know of any cheap (ie. free) software that would allow me to change the 'key' of a mp3?

| um the only way i know of changing the key of an mp3 (or any song for that matter) is to increase the pitch. approx 6% either way will change the key by a semitone |

| Audacity should be able to do that. It has seperate tempo and pitch changers, IIRC. |

yes but tempo is just changing the speed of the song WITHOUT changing the key. |

Sony Acid Pro does a good job. I think they allow trial runs. I took a track from a set rip so the sound is not so good to begin with. Here's what it sounds like:
pitch
You'll notice the tempo is fixed and the pitch is the only element affected. |
