Buzzlife proudly presents THE WHITE PARTY
The fashion experts all agree that it's an etiquette faux pas to wear white between Labor Day and Memorial Day but their rules simply don't apply at an event called the White Party. Diesel, Energie, Miss Sixty, FCUK and other DC clothing hotspots are often perplexed by the unusual annual demand for white clothing leading up to Nation's White Parties (Cubik and Velvet) Customers flock to their favorite clothing retail stores looking for that perfect white outfit to make them standout amongst a sea of white at the club. This is all part of the tradition that makes this event so special. Black lighting beams from overhead to intensify the Winter wonderland decor and white apparel.
The birth of the White Party dates back to 1980 with it's roots stemming from one of the most decedent and legendary nightclubs to ever grace NYC. The club was The Saint. It made Studio 54 look like a studio apartment. Join us in our tribute to one of dance music's most sacred annual events by wearing white and being ready to dance the night away. We encourage your participation by offering half off admission price before midnight to those wearing at least two articles of white.

they were going strong for a little bit with the trance stars but they seemed to have backed off of pursuing trance talent latley and i wish they wouldnt. seeing lange, tiesto and some others there a couple years ago were great nights. i think cubik fridays could be a great trance night but it doesent seem like there going that route and it makes you wonder if another club is going to step in and pursue talent. i think five had joof for instance..... |

Heck yeah, I would so much rather see PvD at Nation anyhow. He deserves a bigger venue for the crowd that he draws, anyway. Nation is probably the best thing in DC right now as far as I'm concerned.
I still reminisce about his set at the DC Armory back in 2001, though! :)

But Five is owned by Primacy, also the owners of Nation.
I imagine that John Boyle must really have some great political connections. :tongue2 |

yes, Five and Nation are both owned by Primacy, but Primacy doesnt have control over the lineups at either. The promoter of the party books the talent, not the venue owner. |

No, I wasn't saying that Primacy did any booking. I pretty much meant that they must have considerable political pull just in order to keep two venues open, that each have theme nights with EDM. I applaud them, if anything. It just seems like our scene has been under attack for quite some time now, yaknowaddamsayin?. ;)
And yeah, Radiate was the ! I wish we could have something like it again. |

| Did anyone actually go to this? How was it? I went to it, but I was chugging vodka before I went in, hence I don't remember it at all. |
