opera is good.
firefox is good.
currently using firefox. when firefox goes down the sh!thole, or agrees in terms with microsoft to be their main browser ( hopefully not), then i'll skip to opera.
yeah yeah .. firefox has it's "little" problems, such as the memory leaks (sometimes i find firefox running at a whooping 150 mbs of memory on my physical memory ! not my vm .. geez!!) , but just dumping the cache history changes that .. that's just a little quirk
and with the opening pdfs at the spot ... ive learned my lesson with that .. just download it and open it on your hdd .. i don't like the wait of opening it online .. too much of a hasssle ...
if you really want to go l33t , try reading webpages through the command prompt, and start reading web pages through port 8000 (or 80 .. whatever the HTTP port is setup) .. |

the http protocol uses port 80 by default, all webpages are viewed through port 80 unless you specify so. text mode browsers are great, nothing like viewing ta in text mode. |

Opera is like a different version of Firefox.
Firefox: Bare bones, and you add the functions you like.
Opera: Fat guy, and you remove the stuff you don't like. |

exactly.
me, imho, i like the bare minimum, so i can add extensions whenver i like . i dont like software where they bundle a whole bunch of stuff at you, and you need to either remove it yourself, or live with it . |

Opera is pretty great and yes Opera has tab browsing too and a much stronger pop up blocker that the rest. |

| I guess Firefox seems to be the popular choice. I'm gonna test that out for a while then............ |

Good.
List of extensions you might want:
Adblock. (blocks ads)
Adblock Filterset.G Updater (makes it better)
ForecastFox (weather report in status bar)
Nuke Anything (right-click plus nuke removes any object temporarily)
TargetAlert (visual cue on where links lead)
PDF Download (easier PDF usage)
SmoothWheel (smoother scrolling)
ColorZilla (eyedropper, useful if you need the code for a certain color)
IE View (view pages in IE via context menu, good for those pages FF doesn't manage to view correctly)
FasterFox (speaks for itself)
Tab Mix Plus (better control of tabs)
CustomizeGoogle (removes ads from Google and Gmail, Google Suggest also implemented) |

I am using Konqueror 3.5. Very good, better than Firefox at the moment. The version 3.4 sucked but 3.5 is a major step forward. Especially the popup blocker of Konqueror 3.5 is the best I have seen up to now.
Lately there have been several ways for popups to bypass the whole popup blocker settings (at least in IE and Firefox) but up to now Konqueror blocked everything. |
