I realize this isn't being played up necessarily as much as it should be in the media, but this is a big moment... Liberals have been waiting over 4 years for this speech, and many thought it would never come...

Why doesn't he admit that Osama was a coy to go after Hussein.

He knows he fcuked up, admits it to SOME extent but do you honestly believe it was necessary to remove Saddam...ok wait let me rephrase that, do you think it wasn't for his personal gain?

Well, because saying the obvious wouldn't really help them. An "I told you so" would be lame if everyone was already blatantly aware.

Not what I was saying.

I just think it's definitely an appropriate time for a smug sense of satisfaction to wash over all of us (everyone) who knew this from the beginning...

I think the majority of the world felt something should be done about Hussein, just not the way it was done by America and the "Coalition of the Willing." Yes, I believe, in general, that it was for Bush's personal gain, but I also believe Hussein was a despotic dictator, and that we should have worked with the rest of the world to bring him to justice, as opposed to taking the "My way or the highway" approach that we did...

Finally someone has seen the light. That's what I thought all this time. Whenever Bush needs a pretext for anything he counts on Osama to create a terrorist plot.

I think the majority of people realized this when following 9/11 we went from "Osama is responsible" to "Let's go get Saddam."

the only reason he's taking responsibility is to stop his hemorrhaging approval rating...

Too late... and to be honest, IMO this is going to do more to hurt the Republican party than it is to help...

I really hope they're as ed as I think they are for 2k8...
