Anything to do in Cologne, Germany?

I shall be travelling to Cologne for a week in the near future and was wondering what would be some highlights to do there. Suggestions welcome from anyone with knowledge of the area. Also, are there any record stores in the area?
I am not exactly sure what part of Cologne I will be staying in but still suggestions are welcome.
