The best non-EDM album I've invested in this year is probably Beck's Guero (my first Beck album). I get the impression that it's not a fan favourite, but I bought the deluxe edition which features the Röyksopp remix of 'Missing' and subsequently couldn't give two hoots. I'm looking to invest in Sea Change next as the melancholic style appeals to my manic depressive side.
Groundhog Boy
Morphine - Cure for Pain
Phish - Billy Breathes
Phish - Rift
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Led Zeppelin - IV
Led Zeppelin - House of the Holy
Guns N' Roses -Appetite for Destruction
Nirvana - Nevermind
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
Snoop Doggy Dogg - Doggystyle
The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
Radiohead - The Bends
Radiohead - OK Computer
Bjork - Post
Bjork - Homogenic
Tool - Aenima
Tool - Lateralus
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Eliott Smith - XO
Dave Matthews Band - Under the Table and Dreaming
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Herbie Han- Headhunters

And that's a condensed list, as I cut a lot of great stuff from my CD collection that I'd liked to have included, but I limited myself to 25.

I mean I could name albums from the ing 50's that easily could go in the top 10.

There really aren't that many (if any) albums from the 1950s as most releases were singles. The album format didn't become popular until the 1960s.
