anyone have those old major injuries u got when u were younger and they tend to act up once in a while?
my in ankle is killing me today.
i snapped it in soccer. i was younger and put the ball through some kids legs he fell over and stepped on him by accident. i got to the other side of the field was winding up for my shot, took the shot and as i was following through the kid kicked as hard as he could against the back of my ankle. it twisted and fractured. i came limping off the field and laid down dying in pain. my brother came up to me who was watching my game and was also like my soccer guru, since he has played for canada and has gone farin soccer, and started talking mad like "u lil get the up, u . what the iveplayed games with a twisted ankle. get the up and back on the field u lil bitch. u in cry baby." but i couldnt stand up and kept falling in pain. so i sat the rest of the game. at the end of my game, my brother was seriously pissed at me. he had his car i had my bike. i limped over to the car and tried putting my bike in the trunk but he locked the doors of the car and drove off. so i had to ride my bike home with a fractured ankle. needless to say i rode my bike home and ended up breaking the ankle and tearing muscles and legments. 4 months in physiotherapy 2 months on crutches.
i have never forgiven him for that. his reply "i didnt know it was broken"
anyways it hurts from time to time. like today its killing me. usually does in the cold |

Ive got plenty..
But the most painful.
#1 Serious neck injury – About 12 years ago I went out snowboarding at blue Mnt… I had a few seasons of experience so I would take the more challenging runs for excitement… except my gear couldn’t take much strain. Last run for the day im going down one of the main routes which connect to all the other runs… I take a turn for a DBD (double black diamond).. no problem…. After a few couple hundred yards I come to a blind edge… I slow down enough to give me time to make sure no one is under, I jump no problem… barely after I land I come to another blind edge, this time I have no time to check… I jump again… land fine… there are people skiing in front of me and they just decide to stop in the middle of the DBD run… I take a hard turn to avoid them and go over another blind edge…. This time one of my bindings breaks and my left foot comes loose from the board… I land hard and go end over end… one of the times I landed on my head to hear a loud “crack” in my neck…. My body goes numb for a few minutes… (I thought I was going to myself) I manage to get up and walk to the car, but at this point my neck is stiff. On the ride home I get a pain (the worst pain you can imagine) and my head pulls to my left shoulder (I am not doing this) – I am practically crying. My friends take me to a hospital… I find out that I had a hair line fracture on the second vertebra of my neck as well as I completely tore one of muscles on the right side of my neck. I was in the hospital for a few weeks. I should be a quadriplegic.
To this day.. I can hear the bones crack in my neck whenever I turn my head slow and It still hurts like a muther f%$ker.
But I still snowboard. and if someone stops in front of me. I just take them out! I don’t even bother trying to avoid them.
The most annoying..
7 years ago I slipped on ice while at college and spun my left leg/hip joint socket.
Just the day before LOL ’05… something happened to the nerve in my left leg.. I could barely walk. Lots of pain but I took a load of Tylenol ultras. (Great stuff) cuz I didn’t want to miss that party!
I dealt with the pain and kept taking aspirin & tylenols For weeks it felt like someone would stab me in the hip as soon as I would put pressure on my leg… after a while I finally went to a hospital to find out what was wrong… turns out I had a pinched nerve… my hip joint would swell up, and the nerve would be affected.
Doctors orders: no hockey, no snowboarding… no doing anything that will put pressure on my hip until it heals properly.
Its been 4 months and its slowly getting better, but it still hurts from time to time…. I just hope when im older I won’t need a crutch/ wheel chair.
Im just glad I have a high tolerance for pain. |
