How do shareware apps keep count of days left?

I'm just wondering. Since they know if even after uninstalling and rebooting, they must implant a hidden timer in the registry... and I want all these GONE! GONE I TELL YOU! I'm paranoid about this stuff.
How can I find them? |

they usually hide it under the key named 'trialware expiration date plz dont delete' |
