In any other case we probably would, but everyone was drunk except the driver, we just wanted to get home. The car wasnt going anywhere, and there was no people in the car cause we checked, so whatever, someone else can deal with it in the morning. Were not staying in the middle of the country at 3am in the winter, waiting for some cop to write a report about this. We dont know what happend, we just saw it, and someone else will and they can call the cops. |

Still, dragging a cop out in the middle of a cold night is not going to make him a happy camper. If you think he's going to be a bowl of peaches equipped with XL33s for everyone, you need to lay off the DDTT. He would have seen the yellow snow at each corner and made the sober driver reem these boys with the billy club. |

I just mean that everyone was drunk except the driver, and we all just wanted to get home, so we left. We did check the car, no people inside, it was 3am and we were in the country in the freezing cold, and the car wasnt going to be going anywhere, so we left. Someone else can find it and call the cops. It wasnt a 911 emergency call. |

When people are injured or experience something like a car flipping over on a country road they usually go into shock.
Someone who is in shock doesn't always make the best decisions - decisions like: remaining at the scene of the accident, going to look for help, calling for help, etc.
It is not uncommon to find people who have been in an accident wandering around in a stunned state, 100s of feet from the accident site.
I believe it was worth making a call to the police for the simple possibility that those who were in the car, in a state of shock, decided to wander off into the countryside. Considering it is winter - exposure is a serious concern. |

If getting home in a hurry was the issue, then just letting the cops know about what you saw would have been enough. At least they would've been aware of it (if not already). Anyways, glad you guys made it home safe. Drive safe this season! |

hey true enough, but i really didnt think of that in my drunken state at 3am. i've seen cars around here flipped over and stupid done to cars, just from teenagers who steal them, and just like to wreck stuff. figuring this is what this was, but really who knows. about a 5-10 minute walk up the road was a street with like 12 houses all close together like a residental area in a city, so if the person was messed up, they would probably walk towards the houses rather than the other way i'd hope, and if they were able to walk in the first place, then they made it there fine. OR, called their friends to come get them after they trashed a car if thats what it was. we came from the way where the houses were and didnt see any person laying in the ditch or anything, and we left in the other direction and stil didnt see anyone. true that calling the cops wouldnt harm anything, and normaly we would have, but you dont think exactly the same when your drunk and not always logically.
we were just thinking okay, check the car for people, no people, didnt see anyone around that looks like they are from the car, someone probably trashed it, were going home. |
