There's gonna be a parade this year like the Fight the Power? |
it appears so! fight da power was really an experience. :D
last year's planet pro berlin was also great. (but very "different" )
there are some rumours regarding the "Berlin B Parade", however nothing confirmed 'till now. my last info is that permits & are applied for, however the date has been postponed to juli (iso june) !!
this also has been notified to city councel. the organisation claims to have sponsors plenty and already 20 float-applications

Yeah but you're comparing one city to an entire country. We can't all get to the same club within an hour or so etc.
Also, and many older toronto ta's will acknowledge this, there used to be less segregation here due to music discussion/chillout being full of everyone getting on, regardless of where they're from, now many people don't use more than just their local forum, and i can see why, but the overall ta unity feeling was bigger back then in a global sense |

Decent, look forward to hearing more news of this closer to the time.
Fight the Power was indeed the most impressive music event I've ever witnessed. |

Here's what an oldskool TA thinks of all this!
I agree with most people here that TA was a very big thing in the beginning, 2001 and 2002 especially. People seemed to be much more united, even outside the region sections.
Coup, you probably remember how we all met up at Trance Energy in 2002? There was a massive global TA meetup near that cinema inside the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, you guys from England came with like 10 people, there were NLTAs, some from Sweden, Poland, Belgium and France! 50 TAs total!
This was really amazing and we had lots of fun. Such gatherings are rare now.
I've never posted much on TA though, but I kind of stopped altogether after 2002..I don't know...there were all these new immature people coming and invading TAs, that's when flame wars began etc, so ing annoying.
True that we were all united behind one music style back then, which made for less different opinions. Someone here said that everyone branched off into their own kind of music, this is absolutely true.
I'm from France, but I remember how big UKTA was back in the day!
There actually used to be lots of "fights" between UKTA and FRTA, that was fun to watch :)
Not so long ago (well, maybe 1 year), there used to be a similar fight between FRTA and Australia TA, was so hilarious, TAs from both sides would hijack each other's threads, with pics of kangaroos and French baguettes, lol.
I don't hang out on FRTA much because most people there bore me, with silly immature jokes and promoting their mixes all the time, but I've got to admit that it's much more active than what UKTA has become! Even though there are only 10 decent trance parties in France each year.
I've moved to England in September and I'm glad to be here, you parties are brilliant, just as nice as in the NL really!
I was hoping that I'd meet some more UKTAs, but that's when I realised how dead the board had become. Oh well, it may be partly my fault, too, I haven't been posting much!
I hope this thread will be a wake-up call, let's organise more meetups at parties from now on guys!
You might not even notice I'm actually French :D |
