There is a high correlation between destruction of hands and the quality of a movie. I have a slight preference for Paul Atreides hand destruction in Dune (son of Duke Leto) though the hipsters seem to enjoy Jared Leto's loss in Requiem for a Dream. The anime crowd tends to lean towards Tetsuo, and the guy on the street has a penchant for Skywalker's unfortunate maiming.
Though I think they overdid the archetype a little in A Very Long Engagement. |

That's cuz it's soderbergh's lol. Soderbergh's isn't bad just cant' compete with the original. |

I can't believe so many people ranked The Fifth Element so high, it was ok but not #1 sci-fi of all time. I gotta say that the classics are way better than anything that's coming out now, save for a few movies that are still high in badassery (that should be a real word)
Anyways, my favorite is BladeRunner. Just such a beautiful film, very anime styled it was awesome!
